Dear LA,
It’s been a brutal week (to say the least).
As a team of Angelenos who love this city from the bottom of our hearts, we share your fear, exhaustion, and grief, as we all know someone who has lost everything in the fires.
That said, we’ve been so inspired to see each and every member of our community step up to pitch in. Through donations, volunteering, fostering animals, and even resharing helpful content on social media, you all really DidLA in a big way, and are continuing to do so.
Remember that recovery will be long-term. Even if you haven’t found the right donation or volunteer opportunity yet, there will be many more in the coming weeks (and we’ll help you find them).
Everyone heals in different ways. While some of you might not be ready to go out yet, others might be craving a distraction. As a platform committed to showcasing our city’s vibrant events, we’ll keep doing what we do best, while still continuing to prioritize meaningful disaster recovery resources over the next couple of weeks.
Keep taking care of yourself and each other. We love you, LA.
— Brady Goodman-Williams, DoLA’s Content Manager (& the rest of the DoLA Team)
